Update 2: As big as could have been expected, the downward ratings adjustment for FOX’s “Glee” brought Thursday’s numbers back into series low territory.
“Movin’ Out,” Thursday’s episode, drew a mere 1.4 adults 18-49 rating with 4.09 million viewers.
The demo rating ties the series low; the 4.09 million viewership tally narrowly avoids the mark set by this month’s “A Katy or a Gaga.”
Lead-in “The X Factor” was also adjusted down, but its numbers remained ahead of those delivered by last week’s episode. This week’s results show drew a 1.5 with 5.54 million viewers.

Update: Thanks to a football pre-emption in New Orleans, fast national ratings for FOX’s “The X Factor” and “Glee” are both subject to a (presumably downward) revision in the finals.
But for now, both numbers are in a position of advantage over last week’s fast national data.
Thursday’s “The X Factor” results show delivered a 1.6 adults 18-49 rating with 5.88 million viewers. “Glee” followed with a 1.6 and 4.44 million.

“Glee” has apparently not yet found the bottom of its ratings trajectory.
After two consecutive weeks of delivering a 3.0 overnight metered market rating, the fifth-season comedy slipped to a new season low this week.
“Movin’ Out,” Thursday’s Billy Joel-themed episode, delivered a mere 2.9 in the overnights.
While that decline might not manifest itself in the adults 18-49 and total viewership numbers, it is clear that “Glee” is not in the process of rebounding from its ratings plight.
Sure to disappoint in the adults 18-49 category, FOX’s “The X Factor” nonetheless enjoyed another week of gains in the overnights. Thursday’s show, which featured two more eliminations and a performance by One Direction, improved by two tenths to a 4.1.
“The X Factor” wraps its third cycle in December to make way for the return of “American Idol.” “Glee,” meanwhile, is preparing for a return to Tuesday nights.
