As her new album “Man’s Best Friend” commences its run, Sabrina Carpenter’s single “Manchild” will likely be sitting atop the Mediabase pop radio airplay chart.

After the first two days of the August 24-30 tracking period, “Manchild” indeed holds the #1 position on the building/real-time chart. While the week is still young, the combination of its upward momentum and the downward trend for Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” suggests a strong likelihood of a #1 finish.

Should that outcome prove true, “Manchild” will follow “Feather,” “Espresso,” “Please Please Please,” “Taste,” and “Bed Chem” as Carpenter’s sixth career pop radio chart-topper.

“Manchild” jumpstarted the “Man’s Best Friend” era; the album itself arrives on August 29 and is a virtual lock to debut at #1 on the Billboard 200.
