Veteran pop hitmaker P!nk is pacing for what will surprisingly be her first number one album; after an opening day of sales, Hits Daily Double predicts “The Truth About Love” will move more than 200,000 copies for a victory on the charts.
That should be enough to squeak by the “Cruel Summer” collaborative album from acts on Kanye West’s GOOD label. Forecasts suggest a first-week total in the 170-190,000 range.
The Killers will follow with new studio album “Battle Born,” which is pacing for 110-120,000. Its significant drop-off from the near-200,000 opener for 2008’s “Day & Age,” though unfortunate, is not unexpected due the brand’s profile reduction in that timespan. Lead “Day & Age” single “Human” was the only hit from that album, and “Battle Born”‘s first release “Runaways” has not taken off too briskly.
Behind Carly Rae Jepsen’s 35-40,000 total for “Kiss” will be Easton Corbin’s “All Over the Road” and Band of Horse’s “Mirage Rock,” both of which should net 25-30,000.
