J. Cole’s new “i n t e r l u d e” enjoyed a big launch day on the major streaming platforms.

Credited with 2,461,981 American streams on May 7, the new song debuts as a commanding #1 on the daily US Spotify chart. No other song even received 1.8 million Friday streams in the US.

“i n t e r l u d e” also earns #1 on the US and Global Apple Music charts for Friday, May 7. It concurrently starts at #5 on the Global Spotify chart, courtesy of its 4,097,821 worldwide opening day streams.

Although it fared comparatively better on streaming, “i n t e r l u d e” also attracted respectable interest on the sales front. The song spent time in the Top 10 on the all-genre US iTunes listing on Friday. The new J. Cole release also received some opening day airplay at the urban and rhythmic radio formats.
