Ariana Grande has two songs — “breathin” and “thank u next” — in the Top 10 at pop radio. Grande’s earlier single “God is a woman” is also receiving Top 20-level airplay.
Despite that reality, Grande’s new song “imagine” still managed to attract opening day attention at pop radio.
Cleveland’s 96.5 KISS ranked as the biggest supporter. According to Mediabase, the station had played “imagine” 10 times by the end of Friday.
Other noteworthy early supporters included Montgomery’s Y102 (9 spins), Portsmouth’s Z107 (8 spins), Boston’s Kiss 108 (7 spins) and Nashville’s 107.5 The River (7 spins).
Several other stations played the song between 1-5 times Friday.
Set to appear on Grande’s forthcoming fifth studio album, “imagine” is #1 on US iTunes and #2 on US Spotify.
