Lorde’s “Melodrama” Earns Gold Certification In United States

Lorde’s Grammy-nominated album crosses the gold threshold.

It debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200. It received an Album of the Year nomination at the Grammys. It received immense critical acclaim.

Recently, Lorde’s “Melodrama” received a gold certification in the United States.

According to the RIAA, the certification was issued on May 2, 2018.

The award confirms 500,000 in US units. Each unit is equal to 1 album sale, 10 track sales or 1500 track streams.

“Melodrama,” Lorde’s sophomore studio album, was released in 2017. It includes the platinum-certified single “Green Light.”

Her first album “Pure Heroine” boasts triple-platinum status in the United States.
