Its pay-per-view buyrate will not rival that of the record-setting UFC 100 event, but UFC 129 can already claim one big record–the largest recorded attendance for a UFC event.
With more than 50,000 fans in attendance for the event at Toronto, UFC 129, headlined by Georges St. Pierre vs. Jake Shields, undoubtedly ranks as a milestone event. If the legend is to be believed, it will also mark Randy Couture’s final mixed martial arts fight–another factor adding to the significance of the show.
And, if that is not enough, highly-touted Jose Aldo will make his UFC debut as he defends the Featherweight Championship (which was converted from WEC after the merger) against Mark Hominick.
But, before those key pay-per-view bouts made the air, a number of preliminary fights were showcased. Results follow:

Pablo Garza b. Yves Jabouin via submission (triangle) at 4:31 of Round One
John Makdessi b. Kyle Watson via KO (spinning back fist) at 1:27 of Round Three
