Tuesday’s edition of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” features a remote interview with Jeremy Lin.

Appearing via video chat, the professional basketball player discusses the ongoing issue of systemic, multi-generational racism. He simultaneously talks about the importance of building awareness with the reality of prejudice in our society, as well as the hope (and accompanying effort) of driving change.

Lin also shares a personal encounter he had with racism while playing basketball in sixth grade.
