Billie Eilish Named Apple Music’s Artist Of The Year; Finneas, Lizzo, Lil Nas X Also Earn Awards

Billie will celebrate the honor with a live-streamed performance.

Three of the year’s biggest breakout music stars have received honors as part of the inaugural Apple Music Awards.

Apple today announced Billie Eilish as its 2019 Artist of the Year. In celebration of the honor, Eilish will deliver a global, live-streamed performance at 6:30PM PST on December 4.

Eilish additionally picked up the Album of the Year award for “WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?” She also shares the Songwriter of the Year award with her brother, co-writer and producer FINNEAS.

Apple Music is also shining the spotlight on Lizzo and Lil Nas X. Lizzo is the inaugural Apple Music Breakthrough Artist of the Year, while Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” is the Song of the Year.

Apple notes that the Artist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year and Breakthrough Artist of the Year recipients were selected by the platform’s editorial team. The Album of the Year and Song of the Year awards are based on Apple Music streaming data.
