US pop radio programmers offered a warm welcome to Niall Horan’s new single “Nice To Meet Ya.” Many enthusiastically played the song Friday, with dozens playing it every hour.

According to Mediabase, “Nice To Meet Ya” had amassed 1,171 spins by the close of Friday. The count situates “Nice To Meet Ya” at #35 on Mediabase’s building chart, which ranks songs based on the first six days of the September 29-October 5 tracking period.

It will not receive the same caliber of support Saturday, but “Nice To Meet Ya” should still be able to remain inside the Top 40 as the chart goes final.

— The new single is also attracting interest at hot adult contemporary radio, where it closed its first day with 141 spins. It should make the format’s Top 50 this week.
