Amid glowing reviews from listeners, Lewis Capaldi’s “Someone You Loved” rises to #1 on this week’s Mediabase US hot adult contemporary radio chart.

Up one place from last week’s position, “Someone You Loved” seizes the throne from Ed Sheeran & Justin Bieber’s format-megahit “I Don’t Care.”

“Someone You Loved” received ~6,643 spins during the September 15-21 tracking period, besting last week’s mark by 488.

The ascent to #1 comes as “Someone You Loved” is posting mammoth numbers in the Mediabase/Critical Mass Media callout report. Based on a survey of Hot AC audience members, the most recent report says that “Someone You Loved” is receiving a positive reaction from 84% of listeners and a negative one from just 8%.

“I Don’t Care” falls to #2 with ~6,241 spins (-154).

Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello’s “Señorita” holds at #3, while Jonas Brothers’ “Sucker” spends another week at #4. Up one place, Taylor Swift’s “You Need To Calm Down” earns #5.
