Tones and I’s international chart-topper “Dance Monkey” continues to gain traction in the United States. The song officially debuts on this week’s Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100.

“Dance Monkey” takes #15 on the chart, which ranks the top songs that have yet to appear on the actual Hot 100.

The song’s Bubbling Under Hot 100 debut coincides with ongoing strength on the Spotify platform. “Dance Monkey” is also making headway on iTunes (it was the 10th-best-selling “alternative” track this week) and alternative radio (where it is approaching the Top 30).

While the initial US push has focused on the alternative format, it is worth noting that “Dance Monkey” has clear pop sensibility at its core. That reality makes a mainstream crossover push possible.
