Sam DeRosa did not win Wednesday’s edition of “Songland,” but her appearance on the show was undeniably successful.

While her entry “Pill For This” was not selected as Charlie Puth’s next single, it did receive a very warm reception. After hearing the song, panelist Shane McAnally ended up signing DeRosa to his Monument Records label.

The song also launched on iTunes following Wednesday’s show, and it is proving very resonant with buyers. It is #15 on the all-genre chart as of press time at 12:35AM ET Friday morning.

— Zach Sorgen won Wednesday’s “Songland” with his entry “Bad Habit.” Interestingly, Charlie Puth did not release his own version — noting that songs sometimes deserve to stay with their original songwriter. Sorgen’s version is currently available at iTunes and positioned at #74 on the all-genre chart.
