MTV released nominations for its annual Video Music Awards Tuesday morning, and Best New Artist may have the most intriguing list.

ROSALÍA, Billie Eilish, Ava Max, Lizzo, Lil Nas X and H.E.R. are in the mix for the trophy at this year’s show.

Each of the artists has enjoyed a breakthrough year. Billie Eilish has emerged as one of the biggest stars in music, while Lil Nas X and Lizzo have achieved pop culture “moments” for their respective hits “Old Town Road” and “Truth Hurts.” Quickly becoming an international sensation, ROSALÍA also has one of the year’s hottest videos in “Con Altura.” Ava Max enjoyed global success for “Sweet But Psycho,” while the Grammy-winning H.E.R. has been scoring big commercial and critical success.

The winner will be revealed at the Newark, NJ ceremony on August 26.
