Khalid’s “Talk” Likely Headed For #1 At Pop Radio

“Talk” will likely dethrone “Wow” on this week’s pop radio chart.

“Talk” is on track to become Khalid’s first #1 hit at pop radio.

The single received 12,171 spins during the first five days of the June 16-22 tracking period. Up 13% from the count at this point last week, the tally slots “Talk” at #1 on Mediabase’s building pop chart.

While it only has a nine-spin lead over Jonas Brothers’ building #2 “Sucker,” it has the clear momentum advantage. Whereas “Talk” is up 13% from last week’s count, “Sucker” is slightly down. If both remain on those trajectories, “Talk” will secure the #1 position by the close of tracking.

And even if “Talk” somehow misses the top spot this week, it would be a safe bet to get there next week.

“Talk” will become Khalid’s first #1 solo pop hit — and fourth overall leader. He previously ruled with the collaborative hits “1-800-273-8255,” “Love Lies,” and “Eastside.”
