Katy Perry’s new single “Never Really Over” received a substantial amount of opening day airplay at the pop and hot adult contemporary radio formats.

According to Mediabase, the tune had received 1612 pop spins by the end of Friday, May 31. It meanwhile garnered 707 spins at Hot AC radio.

The counts respectively position “Never Really Over” at #32 and #24 on the Mediabase building pop and Hot AC airplay charts. Such charts rank songs based on airplay received during the first six days of the May 26-June 1 tracking period.

“Never Really Over” notably received hourly airplay from stations at both formats.
