HBO shares a variety of press photos from the Battle of Winterfell.

With the goal of attracting as much hype as possible, TV networks typically release a full slate of episodic photos prior to the broadcast dates of their shows.

HBO adheres to a different strategy with its flagship “Game Of Thrones.” Aware that the show does not need any additional hype but will be hurt by spoilers, it generally holds back most of its photos until after the airing.

Photos for the Sunday, April 28 edition just arrived.

The pictures chronicle the bloody, intense Battle of Winterfell. By the time said battle was over, several longtimer characters had met their demise.

So too, however, had The Night King. Fulfilling a prophecy from earlier in the show’s run, Arya Stark killed the villain just as he was approaching her brother Bran. As he fell, so too did his entire army of White Walkers and Wights.

The new press photos follow.
