Songs By Sam Smith & Normani, Ariana Grande, Ava Max Battling For Top 5 Positions At Pop Radio

At least two songs will get there this week.

As Jonas Brothers’ “Sucker” ascends to #1 on the Mediabase pop radio chart, three songs approach the chart’s Top 5.

Sam Smith & Normani’s “Dancing With A Stranger,” Ariana Grande’s “break up with your girlfriend, i’m bored,” and Ava Max’s “Sweet But Psycho” are all in contention for Top 5 positions this week.

“Dancing With A Stranger” currently appears at #4 on the building/real-time chart. It received 3,926 spins during the first two days of the April 14-20 tracking period, besting last week’s mark by 9%.

“break up with your girlfriend, i’m bored” (building #5, 3,778 spins, +12%) and “Sweet But Psycho” (building #6, 3,712 spins, +4%) are very close behind.

As there are no imminent threats from below, the building chart positions make it clear that at least two of the aforementioned songs will officially join the Top 5 this week. With Ellie Goulding & Diplo’s building #3 “Close To Me (featuring Swae Lee)” starting to fade (4,016 spins, -5%), it may create an opportunity for the third song to score a Top 5 position.
