Avicii’s posthumous single “SOS (featuring Aloe Blacc)” arrived earlier in the week, but it did not receive full exposure or playlisting until Friday.

On the heels of that increased visibility, the song rose on the global and US charts.

Per Spotify Charts, “SOS” rose two places to #3 on Friday’s Global Spotify listing. It received 5.101 million worldwide streams on Friday, trailing only the counts for Billie Eilish’s “bad guy” (6.219 million) and Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road (featuring Billy Ray Cyrus)” (5.466 million).

“SOS” made an even bigger chart jump in the US, rising eighteen places to #5. It received 1.220 million Friday streams in the US.

“SOS” currently ranks as the top New Music Friday song globally. It trails BTS’ “Boy With Luv (featuring Halsey)” as the #2 new release in the US.
