As season seventeen of “American Idol” gets into full swing, a season sixteen finalist is making moves on the Billboard charts.

Gabby Barrett, who took third place during last year’s “American Idol” competition, returns to the Billboard Emerging Artists chart at a new peak of #36.

The Emerging Artists chart ranks the top artists in America who have yet to score a major hit on the key Billboard song or album charts. It accounts for factors like album sales, song consumption and social media activity.

Barrett’s return to Emerging Artists coincides with gains for her new single “I Hope.” The track improves to a new peak of #15 on this week’s Country Digital Song Sales chart, while debuting at #49 on the overall Hot Country Songs chart.

“I Hope” is the first Gabby Barrett release to make Hot Country Songs.
