Ariana Grande is on track to score her fourth #1 album in the US.

Update: Moments after posting its early US projections for Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next,” Hits Daily Double issued revised numbers.

The publication now says it expects the album to debut with 90-100K in pure US sales. With units from track sales and streams included, it should generate 270-300K in total first-week units.

An earlier post from Hits said the album was trending for 70-75K in sales and 260-280K in total units.

The quick revision should paint to a clear reality: these numbers are based on very early data and therefore very rough. Headline Planet will provide updated data as it is available.

What is also clear is that “thank u, next” is headed for a #1 debut on the Billboard 200 US album consumption chart.

As was essentially a given the moment Ariana Grande announced the project, her new “thank u, next” album is pacing for #1 in the United States.

Based on early data, Hits Daily Double expects the album to sell 70-75K copies this week. With units from track sales and streams included, it should generate 260-280K in total first-week consumption.

Because it is early in the week and because streaming numbers can be difficult to forecast, the aforementioned projections are rough.

They are nonetheless large enough to make it quite clear “thank u, next” is headed for #1 on the Billboard 200 consumption chart, even if a Grammy-nominated/Grammy-winning album receives a big lift following this Sunday’s ceremony.

“thank u, next” is on track to become Grande’s fourth #1 in the US. It is the follow-up to “Sweetener,” which debuted with 127K in sales and 231K in total units.
