Niall Horan’s “This Town” Earns 2x Platinum Award In United States

Niall Horan’s solo debut picks up a new RIAA certification.

“This Town,” Niall Horan’s first single outside One Direction, is officially multi-platinum in the United States.

According to the RIAA, the single attained 2x platinum status on December 12, 2018. The award confirms 2 million in US units.

Each unit is equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams.

Released in 2016, “This Town” peaked at #20 on the overall Billboard Hot 100. The song also enjoyed solid success at the hot adult contemporary and pop radio formats.

With “This Town,” Horan now has two multi-platinum solo singles. His “Slow Hands” is 3x platinum in the US.
