Update: Wednesday’s “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” featured a new approach to news reading.

Fallon, who has famously “Slow Jammed The News” on many past occasions, opted to “Poetry Slam The News” on this particular broadcast.

In both his previous stint on “Late Night” and his current gig as host of “The Tonight Show,” Jimmy Fallon has occasionally delighted viewers with the “Slow Jam The News” bit.

Wednesday, he offers another interesting take on news-reading.

Accompanied by The Roots, Fallon “Poetry Slams The News.”

The segment airs as part of an episode that also features Andy Cohen and John Legend. Both appear for interviews; Legend also closes the show with a musical performance.
