Update: “Roseanne” spin-off “The Conners” did not perform as well as the mothership series, but it still ranked as Tuesday’s #1 show in the adults 18-49 demographic.

According to fast national data posted by Showbuzz, Tuesday’s “The Conners” drew a 2.3 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 10.46 million overall viewers. The show edged “This Is Us” (2.2) for #1 in the adults 18-49 demographic. It meanwhile took second (below “NCIS,” 11.68 million) in overall viewers.

The performance is similar to what last spring’s “Roseanne” revival drew for its finale (2.5, 10.58 million) but well below what it delivered for its March 27, 2018 premiere (5.1, 18.44 million).

“The Conners,” the Roseanne Barr-less spin-off of “Roseanne,” made its debut on ABC Tuesday night.

Although it did not draw as well as the premiere of the 2018 “Roseanne” reboot, it did attract a sizable audience.

According to metered market data posted by Programming Insider, Tuesday’s “The Conners” drew a 7.5 overnight household rating. It was the night’s #2 show in the overnights (below “NCIS”), and it may take first place in the adults 18-49 demographic.

The performance is on par with what last spring’s “Roseanne” reboot was drawing toward the end of the season but below the 11.7 drawn by the March 27 premiere.

Adults 18-49 and overall viewership data is due later today.

— ABC’s Tuesday also included “The Kids Are Alright” (4.5 overnight household rating), “black-ish” (3.3), “Splitting Up Together” (2.6) and “The Rookie” (4.0). All were series or season premieres.
