Lil Wayne’s “Tha Carter V” launched on the US iTunes store late Thursday night.

It hit #1 on the store’s album sales chart early Friday morning. It holds that position as of press time at 3AM ET.

“Tha Carter V” seized the throne from Cher’s “Dancing Queen.” That album, also a new release, spent a little over an hour in the pinnacle position. It now sits at #2.

Elevation Worship’s new “Hallelujah Here Below” follows at #3, while Logic’s new “YSIV” occupies the #4 position. Lauren Daigle’s recently released “Look Up Child” sits at #5.

Beartooth’s new “Disease” (#6), Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers’ new anthology “An American Treasure” (#7), Eminem’s “Kamikaze” (#8), Kevin Gates’ new “Luca Brasi 3” (#9), and “The Greatest Showman” (#10) complete the Top 10.
