“Africa” holds off “Jumpsuit” to secure a third week at #1.

As it did not enjoy a week-over-week airplay gain, Weezer’s “Africa” does not set another new record for single-week spins.

It does, however, retain its #1 position on the Mediabase alternative airplay chart.

“Africa” received a format-leading 3,575 spins during the August 12-18 tracking period. The count trails last week’s mark by 98 but keeps “Africa” narrowly ahead of twenty one pilots’ “Jumpsuit.”

That song, which holds at #2, received 3,539 spins (+98).

Imagine Dragons’ “Natural” rises one place to #3 with 3,068 spins (+317), while a play count of 2,715 (+120) lifts AJR’s “Burn The House Down” one spot to #4.

Up two places, Lovelytheband’s “Broken” takes #5 with 2,524 spins (+29).
