Weezer’s “Africa,” Childish Gambino’s “Summertime Magic” Join Top 50 At Pop Radio

“Africa” and “Summertime Magic” are gaining traction at pop radio.

Weezer’s cover of Toto’s “Africa” continues to gain traction at pop radio. The song officially moves into the format’s Top 50 this week.

Childish Gambino’s “Summertime Magic” also earns a Top 50 position.

Played 614 times during the August 12-18 tracking period (+190), “Africa” ranks as the Mediabase pop panel’s #46 song. It was #53 last week.

“Summertime Magic,” which received 429 spins (+64), concurrently rises five places to #50.

— Both songs are also charting at other formats. “Africa” is the reigning #1 song at alternative radio and the #6 song at hot adult contemporary. “Summertime Magic” is #16 at rhythmic and #29 at urban.
