The July 29-August 4 tracking period is still very young, but it is already safe to project which song will claim #1 on the Mediabase pop and hot adult contemporary radio charts: Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You (featuring Cardi B).”

The song will earn a second week atop the pop chart, while reaching #1 at hot adult contemporary for the first time.

“Girls Like You” received 5,279 pop spins during the first two days of the tracking period. Up 12.5% from the count at this point last week, the tally positions “Girls Like You” as a strong #1 on the building/real-time chart. It faces no imminent threats from below.

The song meanwhile garnered 1,828 spins at hot adult contemporary radio (+7.8%). It is also without a clear threat at that format.

The members of Maroon 5 are no strangers to the top of the Hot AC chart, but “Girls Like You” will actually be Cardi B’s first #1 at the format.

This past week, “Girls Like You” became the breakout artist’s second #1 at pop radio (after “Finesse”).
