While it was not as potent as last summer’s opener, the season premiere of “Big Brother” still led the night in adults 18-49.

According to fast national data posted by Showbuzz, Wednesday’s season twenty premiere drew a 1.5 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 5.54 million viewers at 8PM. The numbers fell to a 1.4 and 5.04 million, respectively, at 9PM.

Last year’s premiere drew a 1.7 in the demo and 5.88 million in viewership.

Despite the year-over-year decline, “Big Brother” led the night in adults 18-49. It took second — beneath CBS’ own “Code Black” — in overall viewership.
