Update: Minutes after this article was published, Kris Wu’s new single “Like That” rose to #1 on the all-genre US iTunes sales chart.

Earlier this spring, news broke that Kris Wu had signed an international record deal with Universal Music Group. Interscope was to handle his releases in the United States.

Thursday night, he released his first song since entering into that pact: “Like That.”

It, predictably, rocketed to the upper reaches of the US iTunes sales chart.

As of press time at 1:40AM ET, “Like That” occupies the #2 slot on the listing. Only Backstreet Boys’ “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” is currently selling at a faster pace.
