Friday, May 18 brought forth a wide array of new music releases.

One such release is Clean Bandit’s “Solo (featuring Demi Lovato).” The high-profile collaboration commanded quick attention in the artists’ respective homes; by 2PM ET Friday, it was in the Top 10 on UK iTunes and Top 30 on US iTunes.

In conjunction with the release, Clean Bandit’s Grace Chatto discussed the song, the partnership with Demi Lovato, and the forthcoming music video.

“Breaking apart from someone you love very much can be unbearably painful, but finding yourself again can be a beautiful thing if you do your solitude right. Self-care is like an art in itself and we tried to look at this in a fun way,” said Chatto in a press release shared by Big Beat. “The first time we met Demi was over FaceTime, believe it or not! She was recording in Alabama and we were recording in London and we recorded the song like this – over the ocean! When we finally met in person to shoot the music video, it was beautiful. She was so lovely and it was a joy to film her.”

“Solo” is the follow-up to Clean Bandit’s “I Miss You (featuring Julia Michaels),” which hit #4 in the UK.
