“American Idol” waved goodbye to Catie Turner and Jurnee.

Following a performance of “Manic Monday” in which she faced some early adversity, Catie Turner declared that Sunday was not her night.

While the judges worked to dissuade her of that concern, America evidently agreed.

Turner, long believed to be a fan favorite and potential frontrunner, was one of the two lowest vote-getters. She, consequently, was eliminated at the end of Sunday’s episode.

Jurnee also saw her “American Idol” journey come to a close.

Only five contestants — Gabby Barrett, Cade Foehner, Caleb Lee Hutchinson, Maddie Poppe and Michael J. Woodard — remain in the competition. They will take the stage next Sunday night; former “Idol” winner Carrie Underwood will serve as guest mentor.
