On the heels of Carrie Underwood’s show-stopping Academy Of Country Music Awards performance, label Capitol Nashville confirmed a release date for her next studio album.

“Cry Pretty,” the album, will be released on September 14.

The album will be Underwood’s first LP since moving to Capitol.

News of the release date comes as the title track takes flight at country radio. It is also positioned at #1 on the all-genre US iTunes sales chart following the aforementioned ACM performance.

“At this point in my career, I feel stronger and more creative than ever,” says Underwood. “I think you can hear that in this new album. It’s emotional, it’s soulful, it’s real, and we also have some fun on there too. I hope everyone loves it as much as I have loved making it.”

In a statement on her website last week, Underwood noted that she was involved with production (as well as songwriting) for the “Cry Pretty” album.
