Ratings: ABC’s “For The People” Gets Weaker In Week Two

Viewers do not seem interested in the new ABC drama.

The premiere of ABC’s “For The People” posted soft live+same-day numbers.

The second episode posted markedly weaker ones.

According to fast national data posted by Showbuzz, Tuesday’s episode drew a paltry 0.6 adults 18-49 rating. It averaged 2.73 million overall viewers.

The numbers trail the 0.8 rating and 3.22 million viewer mark garnered by the premiere. Those numbers, as noted, were considered week in their own right.

“For The People” is certainly not benefiting from advantageous scheduling. The series is not receiving big lead-in support (this week’s episode actually aired out of a “Modern Family” re-run) in a timeslot that has been very difficult for the network in recent years.

Still, the hope was that the “Shondaland” brand would capture substantial interest. Insofar as this week’s episode delivered the paltry ratings “Kevin (Probably) Saves The World” posted throughout much of its first season, that hope does not appear to be coming to fruition.

ABC’s Tuesday also included “The Middle” (1.3, 5.79 million), “Fresh Off The Boat” (1.0, 3.64 million), “black-ish” (1.1, 3.89 million) and the aforementioned “Modern Family” re-run (0.8, 3.06 million).
