Rihanna’s “Stay” Reaches 7x Platinum In US, “Love On The Brain” 3x Platinum, “Desperado” 1x

Rihanna continues to hold the greatest number of US single certifications.

On March 7, three Rihanna singles received new certifications from the RIAA.

“Stay” received the most noteworthy certification. The smash hit ballad is now 7x platinum in the United States.

The award confirms 7 million in US units. Each unit is equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams.

Rihanna also received a 3x platinum award for “Love On The Brain” and a platinum honor for “Desperado.” The awards confirm 3 million and 1 million in US units, respectively.

The RIAA now credits Rihanna with 124 million certified US digital single units (for tracks as a lead artist only). The figure convincingly ranks as the largest.

With 108.5 million units, Taylor Swift is in second place.
