Ed Sheeran’s “Shape Of You” Reaches 8x Platinum In US; “Perfect” Earns 3x Platinum Honor

Two Ed Sheeran smashes just earned new certifications in the United States.

Ed Sheeran’s smash hits “Shape Of You” and “Perfect” just crossed new multi-platinum tiers in the United States.

According to the RIAA, “Shape Of You” attained 8x platinum status on January 12, 2018. “Perfect” picked up a 3x platinum award.

The honors confirm 8 million and 3 million units, respectively. Each unit is equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams.

“Shape Of You” reached #1 on the Hot 100 in early 2017; it was Sheeran’s first career chart-topper on the listing.

“Perfect,” Ed Sheeran’s current single, is enjoying a sixth week atop that same chart.

Both songs appear on the artist’s 2017 album “Divide.”
