Justin Timberlake’s “Filthy” Closed Day One With 2,128 Spins At Pop Radio

“Filthy” will debut inside the Top 30 on this week’s pop radio airplay chart.

Justin Timberlake’s “Filthy” predictably received a warm welcome at pop radio.

Many stations, in fact, played “Filthy” every hour on Friday — its first day in the market.

The impressive support allowed “Filthy” to close Friday with what Mediabase reports as 2,128 pop radio spins.

While not quite on par with the 2,858 figure attained by Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” earlier this year, the count is still impressive. Only a handful of songs have hit 2000 in pop radio spins by the end of their first day.

The count positions “Filthy” at #25 on Mediabase’s building pop chart, which ranks songs based on the first six days of the December 31-January 6 tracking period.

“Filthy” will obviously not receive as much support on Saturday, but it should still have no trouble remaining comfortably in the Top 30 as the pop chart goes final.

— Not simply a focus at pop radio, “Filthy” also had a big day at hot adult contemporary. It closed Friday with 323 spins at that format — enough for #30 on the building chart.

“Filthy” is the lead single from Justin Timberlake’s forthcoming “Man Of The Woods.”
