In a very rare feat, one artist currently occupies the top two slots on the US iTunes sales chart.
In an even rarer one, he is doing so with different versions of the same song.
The newly released Beyonce version of Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect” is #1 on the all-genre chart as of press time at 10:10AM ET. Sheeran’s original, solo version is positioned at #2.
The original version, it should be noted, is currently discounted on the US iTunes store.
“Perfect” is about to receive even more exposure this afternoon; Sheeran is performing the song on Friday’s “Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
Camila Cabello’s “Havana (featuring Young Thug),” which was #1 prior to the emergence of the “Perfect” remix, is now #3 on iTunes. Imagine Dragons’ “Thunder” (#4) and G-Eazy’s new “Him & I (featuring Halsey)” (#5) complete the Top 5.
