Migos, Nicki Minaj & Cardi B’s “Motor Sport” Received Big First Day Airplay At Rhythmic & Urban Radio

JAM’N 94.5 was the top supporter at rhythmic radio, while 92.7 The Block led the way at urban.

Migos’ “Motor Sport (featuring Nicki Minaj & Cardi B)” officially debuted Friday.

By the end of its first day in the market, it had amassed a healthy amount of airplay at rhythmic and urban radio.

According to Mediabase, its biggest rhythmic support came from Boston’s JAM’N 94.5. The station had played “Motor Sport” 14 times by the close of Friday.

Other rhythmic leaders include Hartford’s Hot 93.7 (8 plays), Houston’s 97.9 The Box (7 plays), and Dallas’ 97.9 The Beat (7 plays). Dozens of other stations played the song between once and six times Friday.

Charlotte’s 92.7 The Block represented the biggest urban supporter. It had played “Motor Sport” 11 times by the end of Friday.

Charlotte’s Power 98 (10 spins), Indianapolis’ Hot 96.3 (10 spins) and 104.5 The Beat (10 spins) also provided big support.

Dozens of other urban stations offered between 1-8 first-day spins.

— “Motor Sport” did not make big early waves at pop radio, although Appleton’s 95.9 KISS did play the song twice.
