After months of speculation, Freeform has finally confirmed plans for a “Pretty Little Liars” spin-off.

The network issued a pilot order to “Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists.” It is based on the “The Perfectionists” book series, which is written by “Pretty Little Liars” author Sara Shepard.

“Everything about the town of Beacon Heights seems perfect, from their top-tier college to their overachieving residents,” says Freeform about the new show. “But nothing in Beacon Heights is as it appears to be. The stress of needing to be perfect leads to the town’s first murder.”

I. Marlene King wrote the pilot and will executive produce with Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo.

Freeform also confirms that “Pretty Little Liars” cast members Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish will reprise their roles of Alison and Mona in the new series.
