Thanks to “on the hour” airplay promotions and the enthusiasm one would expect for a new Sam Smith single, the artist’s “Too Good At Goodbyes” had a big opening day at radio.

According to Mediabase, “Too Good” had received 1,361 pop radio spins by the end of Friday. It received 542 spins at hot adult contemporary.

The pop count positions “Too Good” at #34 on Mediabase’s building airplay chart, which ranks songs based on airplay for the first six days of the September 3-9 tracking week.

Smith’s single concurrently takes #30 on the building Hot AC chart.

“Too Good” will not receive quite as many plays on Saturday, but it is in absolutely no danger of falling out of either format’s Top 40. It will debut prominently on this week’s official charts.
