“Carpool Karaoke” Special Featuring Katy Perry & Jennifer Lopez Wins Emmy For Variety Special

Like the 2016 edition, the 2017 “Carpool Karaoke Primetime Special” took home the Emmy for Outstanding Variety Special.

CBS’ 2016 “Carpool Karaoke Primetime Special” won the Emmy Award for Oustanding Variety Special.

The 2017 edition just earned the same distinction.

The special took home the trophy at the annual Creative Arts Emmy ceremony.

“Carpool Karaoke” beat out TBS’ “Full Frontal With Samantha Bee Presents Not The White House Correspondents’ Dinner,” CBS’ “Stephen Colbert’s Live Election Night Democracy’s Series Finale,” Netflix’s 2017 Louis CK special and Netflix’s “Sarah Silverman: A Speck of Dust.”

The 2017 “Carpool Karaoke” special featured a new edition of the titular sketch with Katy Perry. It also included a “Toddlerography” bit with Jennifer Lopez.
