In the epitome of an unsurprising development, Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” rises to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Up seventy-six places from last week’s position, It seizes the throne from Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito (featuring Justin Bieber),” which had ruled for a record-tying 16 weeks.

The Hot 100 ranks songs based on combined activity from sales, streams and radio airplay.

“Look” launched after last week’s sales and streaming tracking weeks but with a few days remaining in the radio frame. That is why it ended up debuting in the low position on last week’s Hot 100.

Its first full weeks of sales, streaming and radio count toward this week’s #1 position. “Look” fared well in all columns.

“Look” convincingly earns #1 on the Billboard Streaming Songs and Digital Song Sales subcharts and improves to #14 on Radio Songs.

Its opening week streaming performance was monstrous; only Baauer’s “Harlem Shake” has posted greater weekly totals. The sales tally is the best since the opening week for Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop The Feeling.”
