Update: An alert from Interscope’s radio promo team revealed that Maroon 5’s new single, which features SZA, will be released on the night of August 29.

It will be available for immediate airplay, with September 5 counting as its official “impact date.”

The rumored Maroon 5-SZA collaboration is apparently a reality — and apparently due to hit radio very soon.

According to Friday Morning QB, a song credited to Maroon 5 featuring SZA will impact pop radio in conjunction with the September 5 add board.

The report neither reveals the song’s title nor its release date for digital platforms.

It is nonetheless worth noting that high-profile songs often launch on the Thursday or Friday before their official impact date. If the September 5 radio date is accurate, an August 31 or September 1 digital release date would seem logical.

— Until officially confirmed by Interscope, Maroon 5 or SZA, details about the song and its radio impact date should be treated as rumors.
