Sam Hunt’s “Body Like A Back Road” Enters Pop Radio’s Top 10

For the first time since “Cruise,” a country song is in pop radio’s Top 10.

Sam Hunt’s “Body Like A Back Road” did not enjoy a huge pop radio airplay gain during the August 13-19 tracking week.

It did, however, receive enough airplay to enter the format’s Top 10.

Played 8,679 times during the August 13-19 tracking week (+99), “Body” rises two spots to #10 on this week’s Mediabase pop radio airplay chart.

Not simply the first pop radio Top 10 for Hunt, “Body” becomes the first country crossover to enter the region since Florida Georgia Line’s “Cruise” (spring/summer of 2013).

A case, moreover, can be made that the “Body Like A Back Road” feat is more impressive. “Cruise” made its mark at pop radio in large part thanks to a remix featuring Nelly.

“Body Like A Back Road,” on the other hand, enters the Top 10 without help from an established pop/mainstream artist.
