Billboard will not officially announce the news until Monday, but in crunching the numbers, we can confidently project that Sam Hunt’s “Body Like A Back Road” will claim the #1 position on the Hot Country Songs chart.

In doing so, it will extend its reign to a record-setting 25 weeks.

“Body” is currently tied for the all-time record (24 weeks) with Florida Georgia Line’s “Cruise.”

A massive country hit in its own right, “Cruise” later benefited from a remix featuring Nelly. The new version opened the door to support from pop/mainstream audiences.

No remix of the sort has been issued for Sam Hunt’s song. It has crossed over to the hot adult contemporary and pop radio formats on its own.
