Ed Sheeran’s “Shape Of You,” which has not left the Top 5 of the Billboard Hot 100 since its January release, just earned a new multi-platinum certification in the United States.
According to the RIAA, Sheeran’s smash earned a 5x platinum certification on July 14.
The award confirms 5 million in US units. Each unit is equal to 1 paid download or 150 streams.
A multi-week #1 on the Hot 100, “Shape Of You” also reached #1 at pop, hot adult contemporary and adult contemporary radio.
