FX’s new series was Wednesday’s #3 cable show in adults 18-49.

The premiere of FX’s “Snowfall” drew a solid live+same-day audience.

According to L+SD data posted by Showbuzz, Wednesday’s broadcast posted a 0.58 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 1.36 million overall viewers.

“Snowfall” was the day’s #3 cable original in the key adults 18-49 demographic. It did have help from a strong lead-in (FX’s screening of “Kingsman: The Secret Service” was the #2 show in adults 18-49 with a 0.70 rating), but the extent of overlap between the movie and show is unclear.

The numbers also compare favorably to those of last summer’s “Atlanta” premiere, which drew a 0.53 in the demo and 1.08 million overall viewers.

FX, it should be noted, openly dismisses the value of live+same-day ratings. It does not publicly comment on ratings until data from DVR and/or non-linear sources is available.
