Kesha’s “Praying” Received First Day Pop Radio Airplay In LA, Mobile, Indianapolis, More

“Praying” is receiving out-of-the-gate airplay at pop radio.

While it does not formally impact pop radio until July 18, Kesha’s “Praying” was made available to programmers Thursday.

Many pop stations played the song. Some offered substantial airplay.

According to Mediabase, Los Angeles’ 102.7 KIIS FM was the leading supporter. The influential pop station had played the song 14 times by the end of Thursday.

Other leading supporters include Mobile’s 97.5 WABD (10 spins), Indianapolis’ Radio Now 100.9 (8 spins), Nashville’s i106.7 (7 spins), Fort Wayne’s Hot 107.9 (6 spins) and San Antonio’s 96.1 Now. Dozens of other stations played the song once, twice or thrice.

In all, it closed Thursday with 137 pop radio spins.

“Praying” is the lead single from Kesha’s forthcoming album “Rainbow.”
