NBC’s “World Of Dance” made good use of its “America’s Got Talent” lead-in.

Clearly compatible with its “America’s Got Talent” lead-in, the premiere of NBC’s “World Of Dance” drew fantastic numbers Tuesday night.

According to fast national data posted by Showbuzz, the episode drew a 2.4 adults 18-49 rating and averaged 9.75 million overall viewers.

“World Of Dance” dominated its timeslot in both columns. It was the night’s #2 show overall.

NBC led into “World Of Dance” with the season premiere of “America’s Got Talent,” which averaged a 2.6 rating and 12.07 million viewers from 8-10PM. It was Tuesday’s top show in both columns.

“AGT” was even in the demo and up in viewership from last season’s premiere, which drew a 2.6 and 11.67 million viewers.

— Given the strong “AGT” lead-in support, there was little chance of “World Of Dance” flopping Tuesday night.

The dancing series still deserves credit for exactly how well it performed in the post-“AGT” slot.

As a point of comparison, the “Maya & Marty” episode that followed last year’s “AGT” opener drew a 1.5 rating and 6.26 million overall viewers.

“World Of Dance,” moreover, drew a better adults 18-49 rating at 10PM (2.4) than “AGT” drew in the 9PM hour (2.3).
